Dark Green Aventurine Donut with Kambaba Jasper and Tiger Ebony Accents
This product is currently sold out.
The focal pendant is a 30mm diameter dark green Aventurine donut bead, dropping from the main necklace via a sterling silver berry branch design donut bail. Surrounding this bail are a number of other sterling silver Bali round and barrel decorative beads with 8mm rhodium-plated pewter heishi beads separating the Bali beads. Next to this sequence begins another one beginning with a 30mm Kambaba Jasper oval bead, followed by a heishi bead, a diagonal cut 15mm Tiger Ebony wood bead, another heishi bead and then a 30mm oval faceted Tiger Ebony bead with another heishi bead. Then there is a series of Kambaba Jasper beads, heishi and barrel or round Bali beads, Tiger Ebony beads, continuing to the silver plated berry cluster toggle clasp. The matching earrings contain a round Kambaba Jasper bead sandwiched between two Bali barrel beads and dropping from sterling silver ear wires.
The necklace is fairly long, measuring 32 1/2" including the clasp. Add an additional 1 1/4" for the donut pendant drop. The earrings drop 1 1/4" from the ear wires.
For this necklace set, I based my decision on using green gemstones and then what to combine them with. The Kambaba Jasper is a very unique, patterned dark and light green gem with beautiful black and some cream inclusions. They almost look as if they were formed in an underground 'eddy' (if there is such a thing!). I also decided on the dark brown of Tiger Ebony wood and think it enhances the Kambaba Jaspers as well as holding their own in style. Adding a number of sterling silver beads to accent and separate the two colors seemed a natural addition to this necklace set. With the length of this necklace and the larger sized beads, it will make a great statement when worn over a white blouse or sweater or as a singular accent for a shift style dress in a light color such as grey. Chic and versatile, it will be a great addition to your jewelry collection.
